The ECT staff is amazing and make you feel very comfortable
First of all, I want to say thank you to everybody that was taking care of my daughter on unit 6. When I got there I was really scare to leave my daughter in a place like this , it was the first time she had to be admitted in a mental facility. But I knew she needed help so I started asking question the staff was kind and answered all of my questions . This is not a vacation home in fact looks more like jail that is true , but the people over there work really hard and I can tell you they do have patience. I call several time (many) during the day and they always answered me in a professional way even when it was to late . Of course my daughter didn’t want to stay there but it’s understandable nobody like to be in a close place , we were born free . I asked my daughter how was everybody and she always told me they were nice . When she got discharged was fast and easy . My daughter now it’s a home doing much better and all of this was posible because of them .
This is my daughter griselda and she wanted to take her life so thanks to this hospital i still have my daughter
I recently started going to this place for IOP.Ms.jennifer is very helpful in my recovery.People that are in my group are pretty cool. Also Ms.Natalie at the desk is nice.Would recommend
I'm very much in the middle on this hospital, this was my first one and they did their best and the diagnosis they labeled me as were not correct nor were they viable for my age 13 at the time. This place the STAFF were kind but we're professional. Food was good and they treated me with kindness and respect.
They helped me a lot (cough cough) when I was admitted into this facility at age 15, I had major depression and felt like my life was nearly ending. This hospital is a complete joke. They put me on so many medications that I couldn’t even breathe. I was scared too sleep, the lights were out by 9. I loved the techs and nurses, and I met some pretty cool girls in here. I remember that one girl that was possessed by demons, from Texas City. where are you? I had a fun time, but they really didn’t help me with my depression at all. Kudos too you guys though, for charging me 8,800$ for 6 days !!!!

My son is celebrating 6 years of sobriety. I do not need to comment any further on what this facility and the staff have meant to my son, his 11year old son and our family. This is his base and he works with others as others worked with him. This only works if you want it to. God bless you!
Staff is pleasant to deal with. Convenient visitation times and days
This place is great if you have an open mind and willing to get help and not be nagging about everything. Shout out to Mr. Bill, Mr. Edwin, Ms. A, Ms Gladys, and Ms. Kristine!!!
When I was put in west oaks they helped me so much and gave me answers i was looking for i needed help they helped me. I really wanted to thank them and a special shout out to Ms.Erica in the children's unit 8
Staff portrayed racial stereotypes and there was favouritism everywhere in my unit, it was appauling but the doctors and therapists were great.
Reading some of these reviews is a nightmare, not because it reminded me of some traumatic experience at the hospital, but because some people really don't want help apparently. You're there for treatment and to stabilize yourself. If you think this is bad you won't believe how they treated mental patients during the 40s-60s. Yes, some techs/nurses can be harsh and don't have much sympathy for patients, usually because of the stigma related to mental illness. I didn't go there to make friends I needed serious help and that is what I received and i'm thankful to the team of doctors and nurses that managed to help me then and even now to this day. My advice to people that want to "get out" of a psychiatric hospital, get yourself out.
my reveiw is that it is a good hospital iv been there more than once helped my all the times i went pcycosis deos not go away can only be treated over 5 yrs since last stay 5yrs since suicidal thouhgts now i need to go back to this hospital because no other hospital helped me
I worked at West Oaks for over 2 yrs in the Intake department. The intake process can be tedious but there are many mitigating circumstances. I saw an exceedingly number of people who left in far better in condition than when than they arrived which after working in other psychiatric hospitals? Says a great amount. The hospital is not not a vacation retreat but NO ONE ever told you it would be. You came to them for a reason. Ask yourself??? Did I or my loved one feel better when we Ieft?? After note, if you brought your children or adolescents here?? It was because you couldn't handle them. In my fifteen years of nursing? The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
